East Yarra Province
	From 1983 to 2002 Mark Birrell held the seat of East Yarra - a long established metropolitan Upper House electorate which includes the Districts of Box Hill, Burwood, Hawthorn and Kew. It covers 83 square kilometres.
	The Electorate features a beautiful natural environment, including Yarra Bend Park, Wattle Park and Gardiners Creek Reserve, Victoria's best public and private schools, Swinburne University of Technology, several hospitals, magnificent heritage buildings, a range of local sporting facilities, together with commercial and shopping precincts such as Camberwell Junction.
